Who I Am

ABOUT

I’m TORI…

…and I’m so glad you found me.

I’m a highly accomplished executive-level leader and strategist who also happens to have something to say. A lot to say, actually. My books have been top sellers, and I’m frequently invited to speak.

I’ve spent more than 30 years serving on executive leadership teams at the local, state, and national levels. My national executive leadership experience includes the NAACP; Demos, a progressive think tank based in New York City; and Community Change, a national organization that builds the power of low-income people, especially people of color, to fight for a society where everyone can thrive.

In Community

I currently serve on the board of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington, where I’ve been a board member for more than five years. I also spent five years on the board of the Meyer Foundation in Washington, DC—three of those years as Secretary of the Board and Chair of the Governance Committee. And I’m a proud Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Montgomery County Alumnae Chapter.

I’m also consistently referred to as a network weaver.

I build meaningful connections across leaders, organizations, and communities—turning relationships into opportunities for collaboration, shared power, and greater impact.

And then there’s this.

I have two ah-mazing sons, Reece Aidan and Kyle Everett (both HBCU graduates), a personal village of friends who are more accurately described as family, and an amazing, deep, and profound companion in my life post-gray divorce*.

*Gray divorce refers to couples aged 50 and older ending long-term relationships.
